Risky Business

First thing out of the shower this morning I walk into the living room to find...

Raw, Raw, Raw

We are working on incorporating more raw meals into our diet and as I suggested on Chauni's blog, I think we should all take one really good raw recipe and post them to our blogs. This can help us all add more nutrients into our children's diets. Here is my chosen dish... zucchini pasta and marinara sauce.

Cameron Made Knives

I know this guy who is the master at everything he tries his hand at. This is one of his many talents, making knives. Aren't they beautiful?!?! I always tell him how annoying it is for people like me who are mediocre at everything they do to watch how easily it is for these select people to pick up on stuff.
But of course, I love my father-in law anyway! He is amazing and is very willing to share his knowledge and talents with any and everybody (on his terms of course- cause that is the way he works) These knives of course are after years of practice. Ron Cameron's Cameron made knives have been sold worldwide and have been featured in Knives Illustrated and Blade Magazine and Ron has been included in the Knife Makers Encyclopedia.

Flipping Business

I should have taken before pics of this stuff because most of these dressers are things that if you saw at a yardsale, you probably wouldn't take home with you even if they gave them to you for free. I have done more but this gives the gist of what I do.

My Half

Chauni had been bugging me to post pics of my half marathon so here they are. What made it difficult is that I had been training in Nampa and Kuna through farm land so I was running where I could see miles ahead of me. The Fit for Life half marathon was on a greenbelt where I couldn't see where I was going at all. It made it drag on forever. I remember passing mile marker 2 and thinking WHAT?!!? ONLY 2 MILES?!!? I am in trouble. But I turned off my brain and kept-a-trucking and managed to complete my 13.1 miles.
The finish line was the home plate at Hawk's Memorial Stadium in Boise. Everytime we drive past there now Leavitt says, "Look mom, that is where you run." He was so impressed with me. Which is funny because he doesn't grasp the entire concept of what I was doing but he sure was proud nonetheless. He is so dang cute.

Our little buckaroo

This is Leavitt's favorite song. It is Rodney Atkin's "I've been watching you". He has even got to see it in concert!

This is just us being horrible parents, waking up Leavitt in a cruel sort of fashion. Our kids are always such good sports.

Tred in charge

I am pretty sure the first sentence out of Tred's mouth was, "Leavitt! Get down now!" A little muffled to be sure but it still sounds just like it. I guess he has heard me yell that at Leavitt enough times. He was yelling at him on his own before I grabbed the camera.

Fire Leavitt

Everytime we drive by the Nampa fire station Leavitt yells out, "Look mom, theres my work!" Well today they had a call to the nursing home across the street from us. Leavitt happened to be wearing his fire truck shirt and was hanging off the back of Dave's car yelling across the street, "Wait, I have to go with you." Jozette was telling Chauni how handsome the firemen were. While they were in there Leavitt yelled into the headset, "Hey Braden look my fire truck!" When they were done with their call one of the firefighters let Leavitt and Jo get in the truck. Made their day!

Does this look like Tred to you?

I was playing on facebook and Leavitt was sitting next to me. He saw this picture on an ad and said, "Look mom! Its the Whoover!" -AKA Tred. After looking a little closer he said, "Oh, no, thats not him." But at a glance he sure thought that was his baby brother!

Pheasant Hunt

I swear my kids have pet more dead animals than they have live! This was the result of Dave's first pheasant hunt thanks to Nate and the help of his dog Sadie.

Practicing for Halloween

Jozette insisted on being a scary witch for Halloween this year. I showed her some pretty witches on google but she kept saying no until we got to the ugliest witch ever. She put her little pointer on it and made sure I knew that was what she wanted. She is so odd, I love it!
I picked up the stuff for her face today and had to try it out. I think for Halloween and the Trunk or Treat I will try to make the skin match the nose and chin better. I must have done a pretty good job making her scary because when I put her in the bath to wash this all off, she wouldn't let me shut the door. She was too scared of a green witch coming in. Poor baby, creeped herself out. But she did say she still wants to be a scary witch and she can't wait to show her girlfriends. Stay tuned for the real pics.

Hug a Bug

Tred was climbing on the couch and Jozette told him to give her a hug. He was like this for a while before I got my camera. Tred loves his JoJo and she loves him, as you can see!

Tred a Roo

Have you ever tried with all your might to do something and just couldn't pull it off?

This is Tred folding his arms for a prayer... notice his little peeping eyeballs.

Mommy left me :-)

We all saw what happens when David leaves Tred, but what happens when I leave? Well, yesterday I had to take a test in Boise so Dave stayed with the kids while I went. When I left, Tred was sitting on Dave's lap. I told him I was leaving and I walked out the door... nothing. So I opened the door and really emphasized the fact that I was going away... what did I get? A wave good-bye accompanied with a giggle!

Relying on a 5 year old

I know many of us do, but yes, I have a husband who never takes his turn with the camera. We have entire family vacations documented with photos and you would never know I was there, except that someone had to be holding the camera.
David is continually trying to improve in that department, but I find myself relying on Leavitt to take pictures of me! This pic is from a video Leavitt took, this was the only frame in the entire video that had us both in the picture and was somewhat focused. But alas, here I am finally apart of the FAMILY blog.

Daddy left me :- (

Everyday when Tred sees David change into his scrubs, he follows him around the house crying. Here you will see what happens everyday when David leaves the house. This time Tred even tried to climb out the window! Sorry about the hour-long view of Dave's bottom when he is putting his shoes on! Try not to stare.

P-O-P, POP!

Leavitt and I were working on writing words this morning. Leavitt took the pen and wanted to write his name. Instead of writing an A he wrote a P. I pointed out his mistake and he told me he wanted to build a word on the other side of the paper. To my suprises he wrote POP! I asked him what it said, he sounded out the letters and came up witht the correct word. So here we have, with no prompts at all, Leavitt's very first written word! HOW COOL IS HE?!?!

A Tred and a dad

Sometimes Tred will not see David for a couple days due to Dave's hectic schedule. Here we see what happens when Dave tries to go to sleep without giving Tred adequate attention before hand.

Our Little Princess

When my mom came to visit she bought this pretty little outfit at a yard sale. Jozette kept begging me to make her look like a princess so two weeks ago I got out of bed and went to work on my baby girl. I curled her hair, painted her nails, gave her a dab of makeup and I even let her wear some perfume. You can only imagine how excited she was. I brought her out and prompted her dad to take her on a date. So off they went to DQ for some ice cream. On the way home they swang by walmart where her dad bought her her first rose. Every child that walked by was pointing her out saying, "Mom, look at that princess."
No picture could ever do justice for how beautiful she looked that day. She has mentioned that date everyday since. I am sure it will be a memory she will always cherish.

Four wheeling

We went four wheeling with Kurt and Sara (David's sister and her husband) yesterday for Labor Day. It was a blast. It is always fun to hang out with them. It doesn't happen enough for how close we live to each other, but we do love to be with family. The kids adore them and certainly enjoyed the opportunity to zip around on the ATVs and get dirty.

The Great Tred Hunter

There are some members of my family who are what you would call, well, obsessed with hunting. I imagine for my husband it began with a father who was obsessed with hunting. I am sure it was the same with his father's father and so on and so on. So here we find ourselves following the footsteps laid by those who have parented before us. Our dear little Tred is so many generations in, he has become the product of evolution. From the womb, Tred has shown a deep passion for big game. You can now see, in the eyes of our dear Tred, how the Cameron family DNA now produces babies who are hunters from birth.... enjoy the video!

Leavitt, the boy, Leavitt-tito

My favorite thing about Leavitt is that he is fun-loving and high on life. Anything fun Leavitt is about. He has a great sense of humor and an ability to even laugh at himself. He is the most determined 4 year old I have ever met. He finds a way to reach whatever he has decided to obtain. He uses the wall to climb up and reach the shelves in the bathroom (pictured above), he climbs my door jambs to reach the keys that sit at the top, and he hops our wood fence in the backyard to get to the neighbors yard.

I once heard him yell to his neighbor friend on the other side of the fence, "Caden, help me break down this fence". It was cute to me that he thought he could break down the fence, that is until I realized he had made up his mind and really was going to break down our fence! Days went by and frequently I had caught him sneaking butterknives outside to assist him in his project. We now have a couple broken slats in our back fence!

Leavitt is our little traditional archer. He would spend his whole day flipping sticks if we would let him. He has even participated in an archery tournament. He recieved 1st place award for his age group. Leavitt is a lot like his Grandpa Ron, anything he decides to try his hand at he is quickly on his way to being the best there is. I'm sure in the next few years we will find out how true this is about Leavitt when he starts putting his own dad to shame with his mad bow skills!

JoJo, JoJo-Bean, the Bean, Jozetters

Jozette is not your ordinary little girl. Yes, she loves pink and princesses and all the girly stuff you can imagine. She has her dad wrapped around her little finger and she is incredible when it comes to pouting. As you see here she has perfected the "puss-in-boots" look, which could pretty much land her whatever she wants.

But just when you think Jozette is like every other little girl you know, she suprises you. Just like she suprised me when I googled images of kids in halloween costumes and asked her what she wanted to be. I was sure she would pick Tinkerbell or a princess. I was so suprised when she repeatedly insisted on being "the scary guy" (as you see in the picture above). Yes, that is my little JoJo last Halloween.

Tredster, Tredawhovious, Tredalini, The Who, Treddy

Some people like their babies clean all the time, not me. If it was socially acceptable I would have Tred look like this all the time. There is nothing sweeter to me than a baby that looks like he has been hard at work being a baby.

Tred is a cuddler. He loves giving kisses and hugs. A few of his other favorite things to do is bite and pull hair. There have been times Jozette has fallen asleep in her carseat and when I look back he will have ripped out two handfuls of her hair. Ouch! JoJo loves to be the older sister and she is good at it. I noticed today when I started singing patty-cake patty-cake to him he leaned over in search of Jozette.
